Chalres Poliquin: "The basic rule is that you have to read ten hours a week on a particular topic for five years to develop an appreciable level of expertise on that precise subject. If you're not
willing to commit that much time, you might consider a different line of work."
That's a total of 520 x 5 = 2600 hours of reading. Wow.
Now, I didn't know that, but I guess that makes me a sort-of expert in romance, men, and the way magic works in fantasy (since I have yet to see real magic performed). Also, battle strategies against evil overlords, killing various types of monsters and ... that's pretty much it.
Topics I'm working my way into are: the mind-body relationship, balance, fate, life philosophy and its relationship with destiny, nutrition, a martial art, the law, herbology (but I suck at IDing plants so.) bodybuilding/shaping, shapeshifting, politics, and selfishness and philanthropy.
I guess I have to be a writer. Nothing else I can do with all that stuff.
=p
Eve.
